Voice and Words

 

As I was getting ready to go to a leadership meeting, the Holy Spirit’s voice spoke through my rush to get ready and  I I heard these words jump out at me. Tell them to “Tithe your voice.” I pondered those words most of the morning and I am still in an “I can only imagine” moment . . . Would we be able to speak at all?

 

Words are the voice of the heart. And what’s in a man’s heart comes out of his mouth. What does it look like to give God our words and our voice? In order to master a new language it takes careful study. Free speech would take on a whole new meaning. Careless opinion would have to bow and words would hold incredible value to actually care what others think. Building a bridge before unloading a truck would become a new normal. Murmuring and complaining would go back to hell and negative doom would get flushed instead of stepped in. The tongue of fire would have a fire hose infusion and last but not least permanent laryngitis and loss of voice would come upon those who tickle ears to give people what they want to hear instead of what they need to hear.

 

“The voice of truth tells me a different story.” “I’ll say what you say, and pray what you pray.” Life is voice activated. Tithing our voice to God means to be responsible for every word we speak.
