"Jill and I were part of an amazing team that ministered to a steady flow of people coming into the Prayer Tent at Soulfest — For about 10 hours straight. Some sought guidance, others healing. Some sought prophetic words, others were riddled with unimaginable trauma. But in nearly every case, because there was never any hurry, we would linger until insight was given by the Lord to reveal the thing behind the thing and the pain underneath the pain.

That’s the place The Holy Spirit is always trying to reach — If we let Him.

One sweet young single Mom had been trafficked for years. Another was regularly beaten up by her adult autistic brother. Many were freed from addictions.  A real heart-tug is when a parent comes in weeping for their wayward child. And a few went through deliverance.

One exuberant group of 20-somethings simply wanted to be empowered to reach their generation!

But the most pressing moments for me are when people come in and simply say, “I don’t want to tell you anything. I want to see what you hear from the Lord for me.”

​

Now, of course this would be impossible if it were not for the Gifts of the Holy Spirit. Most churches neither teach not model these gifts, but they have been given to the Church for power and purpose.

Watching people get healed, touched, saved, and delivered is outrageously rewarding. But what is particularly rewarding is daring to deliver a word to someone and then watch the person respond in tears. Only God."
